Signyd Fair Use Policy for Unlimited Features

Last updated: November 3, 2026 This Fair Use Policy explains how Villaces Inc. (“Signyd”, “we”, “us” or “our”) interprets unlimited entitlements on Signyd plans. It supplements our Terms and Conditions and Acceptable Use rules. If this policy and the Terms conflict on usage limits for unlimited features, this policy controls unless a signed enterprise order says otherwise. This page is not legal advice. Plan names and marketed features may change; the entitlements shown at checkout and in Settings → Billing control for your Account.

1. What “unlimited” means

When a plan lists a feature as unlimited (for example unlimited multi-party envelopes on Scale, unlimited self-sign envelopes, unlimited storage on Scale, or unlimited templates), Signyd means:

• there is no fixed monthly numerical cap published for ordinary, good-faith business use of that feature under that plan; and
• use must still be reasonable, lawful, and consistent with this policy, the Terms, and the technical limits of the Service (file size, pages per envelope, recipients per envelope, API rate limits, and similar).

Unlimited does not mean:

• unrestricted capacity under every load condition;
• a right to degrade the Service for other customers;
• a right to use Signyd as a bulk messaging, file-hosting, backup, CDN, or data-warehouse product;
• a right to bypass paid quotas on other features by misusing an unlimited feature; or
• a waiver of Acceptable Use, security, anti-abuse, sanctions, or API rules.

We may apply automated and manual controls to detect abuse. Soft thresholds, alerts, and temporary throttling are operational measures, not a change to your marketed plan name.

2. Features covered

This policy applies to every entitlement marketed or displayed as unlimited, including: Numeric caps on other features (for example monthly envelopes on Starter, Pro, or Business; ID verification credits; seats; recipients per envelope; files, pages, or megabytes per envelope) are not unlimited and remain as stated on pricing and in the product.

3. Multi-party envelopes (unlimited plans)

Unlimited multi-party envelopes are for genuine signature requests tied to your organization’s business. Allowed examples

• Sending contracts, HR forms, vendor agreements, and similar documents to real counterparties
• Normal day-to-day volume that varies with your business
• Using the API within published rate limits for the same purposes

Not fair use

• Bulk unsolicited signature requests, spam, phishing, or list bombing
• Synthetic load, stress tests, or capacity probing against production without our written permission
• Reselling, sublicensing, or operating a signature bureau for unrelated third parties on a flat unlimited plan without an enterprise agreement
• Creating large volumes of incomplete, abandoned, or throwaway envelopes to reserve capacity or manipulate metrics
• Circumventing identity-verification, seat, storage, or recipient limits by splitting or scripting abusive traffic

If your sustained volume is far above what comparable customers on the same plan generate, or is characteristic of a platform or high-volume integrator, we may require an Enterprise or custom order, rate limits, or a different commercial package.

4. Self-sign envelopes

Self-sign is unlimited so Authorized Users can complete documents themselves without consuming the monthly multi-party envelope quota. Allowed examples

• An Authorized User signs an internal or outbound PDF as the sole signer
• Adding a small number of completion-only recipients of the signed file, within the product limit

Not fair use

• Using self-sign as a substitute for multi-party envelopes when other parties must sign (for example by scripting self-sign flows to avoid paid envelope quotas)
• Automated mass self-sign generation for load testing, scraping sealed PDFs, or minting certificates at industrial scale unrelated to ordinary business signing
• Sharing one seat or one login so many people abuse unlimited self-sign outside your purchased seats
• Feeding malware, illegal content, or forged identity material through self-sign

Self-sign remains subject to plan technical limits (files, pages, size) and Acceptable Use.

5. Unlimited storage

Unlimited storage on qualifying plans is for documents and files you use with Signyd, not as general-purpose cloud storage. Allowed examples

• Keeping completed agreements, drafts, templates, and audit-related exports for your Account
• Normal growth of your signing archive over time

Not fair use

• Using Signyd as a backup dump, media library, software distribution mirror, or cold object store
• Uploading content unrelated to e-signature workflows at a scale that is primarily storage consumption
• Storing illegal, infringing, or malware-laden material
• Inflating storage with duplicated or disposable files to reserve capacity

We may require cleanup, migration to an enterprise storage arrangement, or suspension of further uploads when storage use is abusive or threatens platform stability. HIPAA or other regulated data remains subject to the Terms and any BAA; unlimited storage does not expand those permissions.

6. Unlimited templates

Unlimited templates are for building and maintaining a library of reusable signing layouts for your organization. Allowed examples

• Separate templates per contract type, department, or locale
• Iterating on layouts as your processes change

Not fair use

• Generating vast numbers of near-identical templates to probe the Service or circumvent other limits
• Publishing or selling template packs to third parties as a separate product without our written agreement
• Storing non-template bulk files under the template feature

7. Shared rules for all unlimited features

For every unlimited entitlement you must:

1. Use the Service only for lawful business purposes under the Terms.
2. Stay within technical limits shown in the product (recipients, file counts, page counts, sizes, API quotas).
3. Not interfere with other customers’ use of the Service.
4. Not attempt to bypass metering, billing, seats, Verify credits, or security controls.
5. Keep Account access limited to Authorized Users within your purchased seats.
6. Cooperate with reasonable requests for information when we investigate suspected abuse.

High automated traffic must use the customer API where available, honor rate limits, and must not scrape interactive UI endpoints.

8. Monitoring and enforcement

If we reasonably believe usage violates this policy or threatens the Service, we may, with notice where practicable:

• throttle or temporarily restrict the affected feature;
• require you to reduce volume, delete abusive content, or upgrade to a plan or Enterprise order that matches your use;
• suspend sending, uploads, self-sign, API access, or the Account; and/or
• terminate access for material or repeated abuse, as described in the Terms.

We aim to contact the Account owner or admin before sustained commercial restrictions, except where delay would risk security, fraud, legal compliance, or material harm to the platform. Enforcement under this policy does not create a refund right. Fees remain governed by the Payments and Refunds Policy.

9. Enterprise and custom arrangements

Customers who need sustained high volume, dedicated capacity, HIPAA BAA, data residency, or usage outside this Fair Use Policy should contact Sales for an Enterprise or custom order. Written order terms prevail over this policy to the extent of any conflict.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top is the latest revision. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app with reasonable notice before they apply to future use, except where faster changes are required for security, fraud prevention, or law.
