# Signyd Verify

> Identity verification before a signer can open the panel.

Enable Signyd Verify per signer with **Require Signyd Verify** when you prepare a document, or with `kyc_required` on your API request.

Verify is extra identity evidence. It does not give the signer a certificate and does not turn their mark into an advanced or qualified electronic signature. See the [Signature and Sealing Practices Statement](https://docs.signyd.com/legal/signature.md).

If verification is not available on your workspace, send shows: **Identity verification is not configured.** Contact Signyd support.

## Credits

* Separate from monthly envelopes and self-sign
* Monthly allotment comes from the plan (none on Starter; see [Billing](https://docs.signyd.com/settings/billing.md))
* Extra packs can be purchased
* Send checks that you have enough credits for every Verify signer
* A credit is consumed when a **new** verification session starts (continuing the same session on the same network does not charge again)

## Signer steps

1. The panel shows: **Identity verification is required before the signing panel can be shown.**
2. Select **Verify identity**. The signer scans an ID and completes a liveness / selfie check.
3. On return, Signyd checks:
   * **Name match** — first name and at least one last name must match the authorized signer
   * **IP match** — verification and signing must happen on the **same network**
4. If the case is **in review**, the signer waits: **You can sign after the requester approves it.**
5. When approved, the signing panel appears.

### Common blocks

| Message | Cause |
| - | - |
| Name on the ID does not match | Wrong person or different legal name |
| Same network required | VPN, mobile vs office, or different device network |
| In review | Waiting for the requester (or an automated review) |

## Requester review

On the document **ID verification** tab:

* Review photos and extracted data
* **Approve** — signer may continue (can override a name-mismatch hold)
* **Decline** — signer cannot sign; if you use webhooks, `kyc.failed` is sent with `reason: requester_denied`

The requester also gets an email: **Identity verification needs review.**

## What is stored

The ID verification PDF and audit events record results (approved / declined / failed), name on ID, document type, liveness, face match, IP country, and hashes.

**Photos are never shown on the public Verify page.**

Data is purged **12 months** after the verification date. After purge, the UI states that identity data was removed at the end of the retention period.

The product footer may show: **Didit-powered KYC services for Signyd Verify.**
